June update on Alexi
Well we finally got some things done. This girl is AMAZING. She went from
700 ish pounds to now just over 1000lbs, and what she couldn't do... Yes she
can. She runs, bucks, lays down and can get up not so ugly anymore, and she
reared.. The best thing is she can roll now. This shows her muscle strength
coming back and its crucial to her spine and alignment. It seemed everyday
she did something new. Just to watch her running around jumping and
bucking just makes you cry. She knows now she is NOT a throw away. She is
a vital part of this farm. For those who discouraged me from getting her.
Shame on you's. I am just glad I go with my gut feeling and don't listen to
anyone else anymore.. She still will never be ride able or breed able but this is
not a breeding farm.
Alexi, since I got her has made incredible strides, people don't recognise her
as the same horse. This horse appreciates what she has now and never fails
to make me smile on bad days. I am the one doing her hooves now as she
can't hold her weight up that long and her leg wont bend easily enough to do
it. So I accommodate her. Enjoy the pics.
